About Mandalpatti Viewpoint
Mandalpatti (also Mugilupete — 'market of mist') is a grassland ridge at ~1,600 m inside the Pushpagiri reserve buffer, about 18 km from Madikeri. The final 6 km is a steep, rutted track best done by the local 4x4 jeeps that run from the Abbey Falls road junction. Sunrise trips are the classic: cloud seas below, ridgelines in every direction. Carry a jacket — it's windy year-round.
